The practice

Transmission work forgives nothing. Neither do we.

Overhead line delivery combines height, stored energy, heavy plant, weather and logistics, often hundreds of kilometres from the nearest town. The margin for error is thin, and the difference between a smooth project and a troubled one is rarely the engineering. It is the quality of planning, supervision and crew competence on the ground. That is where this practice works.

Planning and route assessment

Foundations, access, logistics and sequencing, reviewed with a builder's eye. Problems are cheapest on paper, and that is where we catch them.

Tower erection and assembly

Erection methods, supervision structures and lift planning for steelwork at height, from stub setting to final torque, checked against how crews actually work.

Stringing and tensioning

Conductor stringing, sagging and clipping-in: puller and tensioner setups, stringing blocks, crossing plans and the discipline that keeps conductors, and people, safe.

Working at height and rescue

Fall protection systems, climbing discipline and rescue readiness. If someone gets into difficulty up a tower, your crew must be able to get them down. We make sure they can.

Energisation readiness

Pre-energisation inspections, documentation and handover, so the line is provably ready before it goes live, not assumed ready.

Workforce training and assessment

Academy-grade training and competence assessment for linesmen and crews, from new starters to experienced hands, with evidence of what every person can do.

Lee Stevenson spent fourteen years building high-voltage power lines as a linesman and foreman. He has erected steel in every weather the job can throw at you, strung conductors across valleys and motorways, and led crews through the days when everything has to go right. After the tools came years as a technical trainer inside a UK power company's own academy, teaching the next generation of linesmen the trade he spent his career on.
